Mystery Coffee goes cross-divisional
GF‘s Mystery Coffee initiative now spans all divisions, making it easier to expand your global network. In the first cross-divisional lap, Mattias Arendes enjoyed a virtual coffee with Franziska Franzen, whom he had never met before. Here he tells us about the experience.
Mystery Coffee started at GF Piping Systems in 2022 and has been a hit ever since. This initiative randomly pairs colleagues for a chat every eight weeks. The idea is that by connecting with new people, there is an exchange of ideas, a chance to learn about different roles, and a sense of community.

After 3’569 successful pairings within the division, the first round of cross-divisional matching kicked off on 4 June 2024, bringing together Mattias Arendes of GF Building Flow Solutions and Franziska Franzen of GF Piping Systems, among some 800 other newbies.
“Before our call, I had wondered how much our interests would align, since we come from different business sectors“, says Mattias. “But that wasn‘t really an issue during the meeting. I tried to get as much insight as possible. Now I finally know when and where there will be cake! Joking aside, I think Mystery Coffee is an excellent initiative to strengthen the sense of togetherness among the divisions.“
